I got this from a DAT source, which most likely came from a tape source before that. The entire show was laid out in only 4 indexes, with the breaks ALWAYS coming in the middle of a piece. To make matters worse, the succeeding index always included overlap music that was already on the prior index, so I had to spend a lot of time listening to the exact pickup point, which is not always easy. OK, here we go: First off, any odd cuts, etc. were present on my master source recording. I did not cut anything in any way, other than to remove silence. Two sources appear to have been used for this. The Firebird > Siberian segment is from the inferior source. This is the source that has the low frequency overload and the swishiness. Shortly after Siberian ends, you can hear it switch to another, lower gen source (albeit with less bass). The inferior source kicks in again later on in the show whenever you hear a swishiness to the music. All Indexes: All songs had severe channel misbalance, with the Right channel's volume being about 1/10 of the Left channel's. After MUCH time spent experimenting, I boosted the Right channel to be about equal to the Left channel. There are periodic places where you get music swishiness (where the music comes and goes like waves on the beach). I did NOT try to fix this. Index 1: * Firebird * Siberian * And You And I * Close To The Edge * Wakeman Solo I Firebird - Siberian had severe low frequency distortion. The AYAI -> end had a noticeable lack of any bass!!! So, I broke the index into 2 sections. After MUCH time spent experimenting, I dropped the low frequencies of the 1st section to reduce the overload sound. Though improved, it still sounds rough. For the second section and after MUCH time spent experimenting, I boosted the low frequencies to bring out some of the bass, which still remain pretty much non existant. Index 2: * Wakeman Solo II * Revealing Science * Ancient I After MUCH time spent experimenting, I found the place where I needed to pick up the Wakeman Solo. This index had the same problem of almost no bass. After MUCH time spent experimenting, I boosted the low frequencies to bring out some of the bass, which still remain pretty much non existant. Index 3: * Ancient II * Ritual I * silence After MUCH time spent experimenting, I found the place where I needed to pick up The Ancient. This index had the same problem of almost no bass. After MUCH time spent experimenting, I boosted the low frequencies to bring out some of the bass, which still remain pretty much non existant. Index 4: * Ritual II * Roundabout * silence After MUCH time spent experimenting, I found the place where I needed to pick up Ritual. This index had the same problem of almost no bass. After MUCH time spent experimenting, I boosted the low frequencies to bring out some of the bass, which still remain pretty much non existant. This entire process took a couple of weeks and was a shit experience. Experiences like this make me sometimes hate the trading process. I was screwed by the guy who sent me this and about 16 other discs that were not indexed. But the work is thankfully done !
